Setup Steps
Choose a Hosting Provider
Pick a Minecraft server host that supports modded servers. Look for providers offering at least 4 GB RAM, SSD storage, and mod support. Popular options include dedicated hosting platforms that let you install Forge or Fabric with one click.
Install Minecraft Forge or Fabric
Cobblemon runs on Fabric (recommended) or Forge. Download the correct version for your Minecraft version (1.20.1+ recommended). Most hosts have one-click modloader installers — select Fabric and the compatible Minecraft version.
Install the Cobblemon Mod
Download the latest Cobblemon mod from the official CurseForge or Modrinth page. Upload it to your server's 'mods' folder along with required dependencies like Fabric API (for Fabric) or Architectury (for Forge).
Configure Server Settings
Edit server.properties to set max players, difficulty, and world settings. Configure Cobblemon settings in the config folder — adjust spawn rates, shiny chance, level caps, and battle rules to match your server's style.
Set Up Security & Permissions
Install a permissions plugin (LuckPerms recommended) to manage player ranks and access. Set up anti-grief measures, whitelist if desired, and configure backup schedules to protect your world data.
Launch & List Your Server
Start your server, test that Cobblemon spawns correctly, and invite friends to verify. Once stable, list your server on CobblemonHub to attract players — add a description, banner image, and select your server category.
