Cobblemon Evolution Guide
Every evolution method explained — from simple level-ups to rare special conditions. Includes examples, item locations, and pro tips.
Evolution Methods
Level-Up Evolution
The most common method. Battle wild Cobblemon to earn XP and level up. Most starters evolve between level 16 and 36. Check each Cobblemon's dex entry for the exact level required.
Charmander → Charmeleon (Lv. 16) → Charizard (Lv. 36)
Evolution Stones
Some Cobblemon need a specific stone to evolve. Stones are mined from ore veins underground or found in temples and loot chests. Fire Stone, Water Stone, Thunder Stone, Leaf Stone, Moon Stone, Sun Stone, Dusk Stone, Dawn Stone, Ice Stone, and Shiny Stone are all available.
Eevee + Water Stone → Vaporeon, Pikachu + Thunder Stone → Raichu
Link Cable Evolution
Trade evolutions use a Link Cable item instead of actual trading. Craft a Link Cable with redstone and copper ingots, then use it on the Cobblemon that normally requires trading to evolve.
Haunter + Link Cable → Gengar, Machoke + Link Cable → Machamp
Friendship Evolution
Some Cobblemon evolve when their friendship level is high enough. Increase friendship by keeping them in your party, battling together, and feeding them berries. Avoid letting them faint.
Eevee (high friendship, day) → Espeon, Riolu (high friendship, day) → Lucario
Time-Based Evolution
Certain evolutions only happen at specific times of day. Daytime evolutions trigger between 6 AM and 6 PM in-game, while nighttime evolutions require darkness (6 PM to 6 AM).
Eevee (night, high friendship) → Umbreon, Rockruff (dusk) → Lycanroc Dusk
Special Condition Evolution
Some Cobblemon have unique evolution conditions: leveling up in a specific biome, knowing a certain move, holding an item while leveling, or leveling up during weather conditions.
Eevee (near Mossy Rock) → Leafeon, Sliggoo (rain) → Goodra
