Learn Type Matchups
Memorize the type effectiveness chart — it's the foundation of PvP. Knowing that Ground is immune to Electric, or that Fairy resists Dragon, lets you predict and counter your opponent's moves.
Build a Balanced Team
Cover your team's weaknesses. A good PvP team has answers for common threats: a bulky wall, a fast sweeper, a pivot with good resistances, and at least one setup sweeper. Avoid stacking the same type.
Use Setup Moves Wisely
Moves like Swords Dance, Dragon Dance, and Calm Mind can turn the tide. Set up on a Cobblemon you resist, then sweep with boosted stats. But don't get greedy — know when to attack.
Predict Switches
